-Find My Wings Im Ready to Fly-

There must have been
something in the dawn
I know not why this feeling comes
It must have been
The sun's refrain
To make me feel like this today
Like every path may be my last
I wish it were the wind to blame
And all that I am grateful for
Is that you're with me here today.

whee tonite i went to carnegie hall to watch a choir performance - St Cecelia's Chorus... except my father conveinently forgot to mention that the songs were being sung in GERMAN so you can guess how much I understood right? the acoustics of the place were damn good though, also pretty grand... although i carnt realli critic since all I can measure to is like... esplanande (:|) bleh... anyways... the conductor [david randolph] was like 91-years old! ^-^ luckily in his job age counts for experience more than disadvantage so thats good...

actually the music reminded me alot of lotr and that was basically what i was thinking of throughout most of the performance. [besides german and elvish are both greek to me.] i figured out one of the reasons why i like lotr is because of the cool names that tolkien thinks up. [mount doom is the exception. im rather baffled on that count] since thinking up names that are actually pronouncable and nice is damn hard... harder than you would except. think about the symmetry of gondor's minas tirith, or fallen osgiliath. elvish heartwoods and hearthstones at lothlorien and rivendell and mirkwood. the serenity of the shire. twin evils at orthanc and barad-dur. horselords of rohan defending at helmsdeep and the rohirrim. the final battle just beyond mordor. then theres theoden, faramir, gandalf... interestingly original. yay for the movie versions... since they make the book palatable.
